I’m a Lucky Man (2019) has lived up to his name. The Cal bred had raced 14 times with earnings of $82,116 when he was entered into a claiming race at Gulfstream Park in Florida in January of 2025. His original owner’s wife had closely followed Lucky’s racing history after he was claimed from them, knowing at some point she and her husband would ensure he would come back to California to live out his days in permanent retirement. The claim was dropped for him and to add to the lucky streak, he flew back to CA on the same plane as the Pegasus Stakes mega stars.
